Acknowledgments

This book exists because Georgiy Treyvus, CloudStreet Product Manager, proposed it and handed over the line that became its spec: "Leveraging AI to make one off tools that solve bespoke problems you have that nobody else does." The chapters are an attempt to read what's inside that sentence. Thanks to him for the brief and for the patience as the book went through several drafts before settling.

Thanks also to David Liedle, the developer whose ongoing collaboration informs the perspective in this book. The frame of disposable tools is recognizable to me as a category because of work I've done with him across many sessions; the shape of the practice described here is shaped by his practice, even when the artifacts of it are absent from the text.
